Jason gives this PJS ayam gepuk a 7.1 — the sambal is loaded with crushed chilli and seriously spicy, though it lacks the salty crushed peanut depth. At RM9 it's a solid, good-value option for people living nearby.

Highlights

  • Price: RM9 for the ayam gepuk, great value for nearby residents
  • Taste: Punchy crushed chilli sambal like nasi goreng cili padi, but the drumstick is plain and dry-ish
  • Other: Spice level sits between pedas and extra pedas — expect a toilet trip after

It's a curse and a blessing to try Ayam Gepo. Kali ini kita cuba yang PJS punya. Meow, I need you to be 100% jujou with me. Is the food nice or not? RM9 Ayam Gepo. I need to try all there is simulation. The main test. This one does not wait for your taste buds. The crushed chilli, I feel a lot of it. There's so much. Ya, it doesn't have the salty crushed peanut. Extra flavour from the pak gebus. This one macam nasi goreng chilli padi. I'm gonna need to go toilet after this. For a drumstick, quite plain and dry-ish. The skin is crispy at least. Tastes quite similar to the tepung kep chee that you get from Kedai Gun Cik. Let's try. It doesn't have the deep fried goreng garing hangus taste. They only got this one pedas level. In between pedas and extra pedas from pak gebus. For RM9, I think this is such a good option for people who live nearby here. 7.1.
