I went to Baitung Classic, a 4.8 in Google review in Kampung Sungai Ramau Dalam, Kajang. Farah and Anwar, both husband and wives are owners of this place. Saima Abdul Sata, Farah's grandmother started it all in 2016 with her classic fruitcake, now known as the Baitung Classic Fruitcake. Today, it's not just the fruitcake, Baitung Classic specialises in traditional kuehs and I'm gonna try it out. Only place to park here is over there. It's a small cosy looking spot with limited seats both inside and out but is their traditional kueh worth the hassle? By the way, I've asked them and they do deliveries and in-store pickups. First kueh, we are trying cara berlau, RM6 ringgit. The minced chicken in the middle is karipak flavor. Hmm, yeah! All this yellow-yellow pink, not just flour, it's mixed with potato and pudding blobby texture. Only one ringgit per piece, decent snack, oh? I think you'll be very nice like eat mui dah ngom, ngom, ngom, ngom. 7.3 Tanam keladi berlau, RM8 ringgit. This is me dipping in their sambal chili. Not too thick, not too lembih. My auntie make the best yam cake. Not anymore. Sometimes kueh yam not cook one. It's hard to cook a evenly cooked yam throughout the whole piece, okay? Both being very pro spicy people, both suits the taste of this. So in the middle here is all yam, top is minced chicken, onion leaf with coriander. It makes the flavor more 3D like 8 ringgit for a slice like this. Some can see it's on the high side but I don't think it's mahal na mam petun level yet. 7.9. Seri muka durian, RM8 ringgit. D24, bottom, pulut. The durian easy also quite generous, it's like 50-50 with the pulut. Pulut? As a durian lover, I'd rather eat real durian because I feel the taste more artificial than real. I got my rating. Just the pulut? The pulut is not too oily, not too watery, it's a bit salty but just nice. Very nice balance. Like Rehan's cake for example, you really taste the D24. It's almost like D24 on top of cake. 3, 2, 1, 6.8. And I think what would be super awesome if it has those durian texture. You know that string when you eat the durian meat? Oh! It's like the durian is not totally blended. Correct, correct, correct. Can you imagine? The meat still there. Of course I cannot finish this video without trying their classic fruit cake. First impressions, moist. Let's cut a small square. Girlfriend's gonna kill me. I know this is an overused comment but especially for fruit cake, this is not too sweet. Luckily. Not superbly moist but just enough. It's glazed. I noticed in my bite that it's less of the fruits which are the raisins, dried apricots, dried pineapples. Can you see the black parts? This should be the raisin, red cherry. Yellowish ones, dried apricots I'm thinking. Fruit cake in general is not my favourite cake or snack because I feel like it's candy cake for kids. They usually overload it with those dry fruits which becomes way too sweet. Byton's one tastes more mature to me, if that makes sense. But there's nothing surprising about the taste. There's no uniqueness to it. Just a good fruit cake. 7.5. I can eat 2 or 3 more slices of this compared to a typical fruit cake before I feel super jelak.
