The verdict

Jason finds this brand-new aesthetic cafe overpriced for what it delivers, with weak drinks being the biggest letdown. The signature nasi lemak is a decent basic breakfast at 6.5, and the almond croissant fares slightly better at 6.8, but he'd choose comfort and value elsewhere.

I tried this cafe's signature nasi lemak for RM4.50. It's called Bijou Cafe in Arah Damansara. It's brand new! Let me take you on a cafe tour. You can sit on the side, here's where all the food is. That's my girlfriend, you can sit here, you can sit there, and then they have like this bar area. They have this table. Orner budak, oh-oh! Aesthetic ya lah but why all the tables have to be so low? It's 2023 and I choose comfort over cool. Tulang belakang nengis. I'm trying out the tea first. The low earl grey tea. It looks like it tastes nice right? Super basic. I can make this at my own house. Yeah, you can buy one box with 25 tea bags only for RM18. That's 74 cents per cup and this is RM7. Make it make sense. For more than 7 times the price is a 2 out of 10. Is their ice chocolate any better? What the f***? I think maybe everything is down here so I gotta stir it first. Oh my god, it's damn tasteless. My girlfriend's reaction is enough to explain this drink. Bitter, tasteless, it's like there's no sugar or anything. 2 out of 10. This is their signature nasi lemak. Simple, just ikan bilis, cucumber, egg and sambal. I will eat this nasi lemak for my breakfast. Do you know if it can be late to me? I like soggy cucumber. No, I like crunchy cucumber. Sambal okay. Cucumber is the soggy kind which I don't like but my girlfriend likes. Personal preference lah ha. The rice got the santan taste. It's a good basic pasapagi nasi lemak. Is it worth $4.50? I think that's questionable lah. Because you can get the same taste for RM1-2. I give this a 6.5. Our last dish is the almond croissant. After the first bite I can tell, the croissant is quite good for me. It's a bit sweet, it's creamy. I think the taste overall is nice. And they were really generous with their almonds or almonds. Wow, sangat juicy. Custard is not gonna blow your mind but it makes it tastier. For what it is, the RM14 price tag opens up better options. I give this a 6.8. Bro, the drinks are free ah. Yeah.
