We got three of your best-selling dishes, bungalow 289. The vibes that I'm getting here is botanical garden, modern kampung. You can take the food yourself like nasi campur, service layadu. If you are sitting further away, like outside or upstairs, then it's better to ask them to take for you la. Parking here is trash. We park completely opposite. Masa lemak, chili api, daging salai, RM18 ringgit. Jump. Santan is very strong, it's the strongest flavour the moment it touches your taste buds. As soon as you keep chewing the daging, the salai flavour starts coming out more and more. The girlfriend ate the ayam salai, it was so smoky, so nice. By this time, you have to really closely taste it with your tongue. The lemak-lemak from the santan, and a bit of texturiness from the kunye, memang ada here. So it's not watery type of masa lemak chili api. Some of their daging too tenderly, some of their daging too liat, but some others are juicy and tender. Other salais that I've tasted, people say the daging should be more kecut, but this is still quite juicy for what it is. It's a good amount of saltiness for me, quite a flavour bomb. So when you eat it with rice, it'll be a nice balance. For RM18, I think this one can share 2%. 7.6. Patin tempoyak badan 20 ringgit. Let's try to test sauce dulu lah. This lets me know there's tempoyak dishes that taste two worlds apart. The texture is watery and soupy. The one we tried at Kocharala before, very thick and puree man. Feels like they really blend in with the fermented durian. This one, like they maybe use a tiny amount to mix it in here. The asam taste is so much more than the durian that I question if there's any durian inside. Maybe it's a different style? The fish feels very, very tender. One of the reasons why I like patin, the slimy skin that you can feel, the lemak one like a lapis. I hate chicken fats but I love fish fat. The sauce, you don't really taste the durian but you taste the fermentedness of it. If you taste fermented type of drink before, you will know what I mean. And the sweetness, I'm not sure if it comes from the durian or they just put sugar inside as well. Honestly, portion is not that big for 20 ringgit to me. This is not the style of tempoyak that I like. I'll give it a 6. Daging berlengah is 15 ringgit. Salty kunyit flavor. Straight away you get that sweet zinc and some peppery aroma. Sweet and salty but feels like it's a flavor that kids would really like. Although there's a lot of chili laying around, don't be fooled. I'll give the spice level a 1. The beef itself, some of it very tender. Some of it more juicy and tender. Long beans, fresh but biasa. Definitely an okay taste. What's so special about the daging berlengah is on top of the kunyit they also add sauce tiram. But I don't really taste too much of the sauce tiram. I think the sauce tiram contributes more to the texture than the taste. Less powdery. It's more thick. Looks very glazed. I'll give this a 7.
