BolehJason finds this halal char kway teow a hit and miss: the char kway teow itself is a solid 6.5 with good wok flavour despite no pork oil, but the nasi goreng gurindau was a 3 with fishy, stale-tasting ingredients. Still worth checking out this local business.

Is this halal char kway teow worth your 14 ringgit? You can find it in Bandar Sri Permaisuri and their name is their shop lot number. Genius! Yaaas, what do you think for the best halal? We waited outside for almost half an hour to be seated. The whole time I noticed there were already a few empty tables. So I just went in straight because we were so f***ing hungry. We both got a teo ice because we just love teo ice and this one was average. The girlfriend found it too sweet but for me was okay, it's a 5 out of 10. This is the nasi goreng gurindau. It's not super tasty. Actually I take back my word it was worse than not super tasty because besides the keropo, the egg tasted like it was kept overnight. Sedeni aku, the squid, the fish chunks, the rice all had a weird wet market fishy smell. At least the cucumber was fresh enough to neutralize that aftertaste. But for a dish that's recommended in the menu, I give it a 3. The kway teow goreng merceh looks better than the previous dish. But the most important thing is the char kway teow and I think they did a good job. And the sauce really puts the char in the kway teow. It's hard to do because they're not using pork oil. And the prawns, they were big, there were two of them but it wasn't fresh. At least they nailed the taste. It's a 6.5 and the total damage is... G40 is a hit and miss but I still think this local business is worth checking out. Genius.
