The verdict
BolehJason's verdict: the New York strip is genuinely good, but the Yorkshire pudding was a watery disaster and the grilled lamb was rubbery with a tiny portion. Ambience is nothing special, so come for the steak, not the vibes.
Highlights
- Price: Steak prices up ~RM25 from old Google reviews, New York strip now RM69.80
- Taste: Juicy tender medium-well strip with charcoal flavour; lamb rubbery, Yorkshire pudding watery
- Ambiance: Clean but ordinary; upstairs supposedly nicer, downstairs has natural lighting
- Other: Parking situation was terrible

I brought my girlfriend to two places on her birthday. The first one was grabbed by a honk. The parking situation was bad, it was terrible. Birthday girl! As soon as we enter is clean but a normal looking restaurant. The staff asks us to go upstairs because it's nicer, but in my opinion downstairs is better because they have natural lighting. If you're going there for the ambience, don't. I got three things. The first one is the Yorkshire pudding, pouring it 50 cents. It was bad. Imagine pouring water on pastry, leaving it there overnight and serving it to you. And the taste, I couldn't tell at all because it was just too watery there. Three out of ten. Second dish was the New York strip, 69 ringgit, 80 cents. I saw on Google review three or more years back that the price was 45 ringgit, so they increased around 25 ringgit lah. You have two options, medium well or medium rare. I ordered it medium well. My experience from previous steaks, usually too chewy and rubbery. But this one came, the texture was just nice. It stayed juicy and still managed to be tender for a medium well. Salt, the pepper and the strong charcoal taste. Everything came through. About eight out of ten. Also I got the grilled lamb, 56 ringgit. Tastes great but it was a bit too rubbery and the portion is tiny. I mean if I strip all of the meat from the three pieces of bone that they gave us, you only get three to four spoons of left. 6.8. Second place we went to was Dozo. It's in Kantara, Aradamansara. The first thing I noticed, the menu like kopi from Rakuzenwa. I ordered the udon clear soup with beef slices. It was above average, very similar taste profile to Rakuzenwa which is not bad. 6.5. My girlfriend got unagi fried rice. That one was delicious. Had the wok hey taste or more you know. Although the unagi I wish had more but I understand unagi's very expensive so if they put more, more price here. Portion was just nice for her but it's gonna be smaller for more average to definitely big eaters. The rice was just super fragrant like 8 out of 10. Then we also had, call it sake sashimi. Very thick slice, super fresh and creamy. I think that is just the main thing for salmon sashimi. There's no fishy smell. I would give it a 7.7. Grab a honk, steaks are good for me. Dozo, one or two levels above Rakuzenwa. That's it, bye!
RM120-130 · New York strip
