The verdict
SkipJason's verdict: a stunning cave-themed cafe that badly underdelivers on food and drinks, with everything scoring between 2 and 3 out of 10. The stale panini and grassy-tasting juices aren't worth the price despite the gorgeous lake views. The place only opened mid-December, so he might return in a few months to give it another shot.
Highlights
- Price: Tangy Infusion about RM10; overall spend felt overpriced for the quality
- Taste: Stale pizza-crust bread with hardly any salami; dragon fruit juice tastes like diluted wet grass
- Ambiance: Cave-themed cafe in Putrajaya Botanical Garden, peak beauty at night but crowded like a theme park
- Other: Opened mid-December 2023; owner says improvements are coming, gorgeous upstairs lake view

We went to a cave themed cafe called Gua Juicery, located in the very pretty Puchajaya Botanical Garden. I think this place is at its peak of its beauty when it's at night and there's less of a crowd because with a crowd it feels like you're just lining up to a theme park. Started at 5.37pm and ended at 6.05pm so that's about half an hour but I don't think it's because the queue was long. Also the line wasn't moving much at all. It took another 15 minutes for the order to arrive. Looking at the Rasa Malaysia Panini. Oh I can see if you like salad, this might be your thing. See the yellow? It looks like masala lemak a bit. I hardly feel the salami. The bread itself tastes like pizza crust that has been left on for a few hours already. You know it becomes a bit stale. Ah macam takde rasa. Now we got a fly here you see. I can sum this up as a lazy version of a Subway sandwich. 3 out of 10. Dragon fruit lychee, I don't think I've ever drank that combination before. It's giving me diluted wet grass. There's so much wet grass here that I can just squeeze out the wet grass juice, pour it inside here. Boom! They call it dragon lychee. RM1 for this absolutely no. Overpriced wet grass 2. Personal preference but I think better they leave the lychee unblended. It's a pearl hole. Why does it taste green? This is the first time I've tried dragon fruit that tastes like grass. It tastes like apple sugar water. Zero tanginess. Unless they use green apple, I think tangy infusion is a misleading name for this drink. The second mix is carrot and you won't find any sourness there. To their credit they're using actual fruits but the taste is punching way below its weight. About RM10, 2.5. It's sad that the food we tried here was bad because this place is very aesthetic. The last thing to touch on, they have an upstairs with two benches to sit on and an absolutely gorgeous view overlooking the lake. Number two.
