The verdict
BolehA middling matcha series that will divide purists and casual drinkers, with the flagship RM19.90 matcha cheese the biggest letdown. Matcha Zen is the pick at 6.7, but the cheese foam is far too thin compared to Gong Cha's.
Highlights
- Price: Matcha cheese costs RM19.90, which he calls mahal
- Taste: Thin cheese foam, subtle matcha when mixed, no jasmine detectable
- Other: Cheese foam too thin to scoop with a spoon unlike Gong Cha

Recently, my girlfriend has been crazy for matcha from Nico Matcha and she's always loved the cheese foam from Gong Cha. Today we're going to try a combination of both from a new drink at Haiti. Got their 3 drinks. Macha jasmine first, their cheese foam. Cheese layer is obvious, thick only at the top but a very thin layer. After that you straight away taste the bitterness of the matcha at the bottom there. You can taste the saltiness from the cheese foam la. Mixing the two colours together. As soon as you mix the milk tea and the matcha together, the matcha a lot more subtle. It's a taste that is going to divide two groups. The purist matcha hardcore people is not going to think it's cow enough but the one that is more for the general taste bud might like this one. Problem here is I don't taste much of the jasmine at all actually. 6.2. Matcha Zen. The matcha powder looks like green moss. Moustache test. Got moustache about. Same thing as matcha jasmine, thin layer of cheese foam at the top become pastel green. Matcha jasmine is more watery in the sense that it feels like it has more tea. Matcha Zen is more milky and it also gives a slightly sweeter taste from the milk tea. 6.7. Matcha cheese, the one that I'm looking forward to but I didn't look forward to the price at 19 ringgit 90 cents. Mahal nak terpaling mempui! Let's drink the top first. See how much more cheesy this one is. Same, no different. If you want to call it matcha cheese and all your Zen series has cheese, This matcha cheese should have more cheese lah. I mean compared to Gong Cha's cheese foam which is very thick, You can use a small sudu to scoop it up and just eat the cheese by itself. You can't do that with this one because it's so thin. 5.7.
