The verdict
BolehJason checks out Jaslyn Cakes in Mont Kiara to see if their viral RM20 ice cream cookie lives up to the hype, queueing almost half an hour and paying with his own money. The ice cream cookie scores 8.5/10 — super gooey to the point it barely tastes like a cookie anymore, but with real vanilla flavour — while the chocolate chip (7.7) and triple chocolate (7.6) are solid. Still, he feels RM20 should never be his ceiling for a small chunk of cookie.
Highlights
- Price: RM20 for the ice cream cookie — reviewer questions whether RM20 could ever be his ceiling for a small chunk of cookie
- Taste: Ice cream cookie is super gooey, almost doesn't taste like a cookie anymore; vanilla comes through and the cookie isn't just sugar. Triple chocolate is richer with chocolate, like a thick Famous Amos but more fragrant.
- Other: Queued almost half an hour; insists he paid with his own money, not a sponsored review

These are the two most expensive cookies I've ever tried, because I need to know — is the ice cream cookie overhyped here? 8.5 out of 10. Am I a paid influencer? No, of course not. I paid with my own money and queued for almost half an hour. I hope it's worth it. Mont Kiara, 20 ringgit. The centre was super gooey — it almost doesn't taste like a cookie anymore. One bite and it's all gooey. I would skip the ice cream — not as thick as I like. But at least the vanilla comes through, and the cookie doesn't taste like just sugar — got a bit of salt. 7.7. Triple chocolate cookie — this is the one I was waiting for. I appreciate that they added salt, so it doesn't taste so heavy — just richer with chocolate. It tastes like you're eating a super thick chocolate cookie. This chocolate cookie tastes like Famous Amos, but more fragrant. I prefer this one over the earlier one. 7.6.
