The verdict
BolehJason rates Joe Vlam's Pizza 7.5: the Wagyu beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender and juicy, but the crust is just normal and the hype plus RM150 price tag make it skippable. Ordering is a hassle with no shop and IG-story-only ordering windows. Worth trying once if you're a pizza completionist, but Christine's Wagyu croissant is nearly as good for a third of the price.
Highlights
- Price: RM150 for the pizza, no delivery platform available
- Taste: Tender juicy Wagyu, herbal spicy kick, sour pickles, but ordinary crust
- Ambiance: No shop; roadside pickup with hazard lights and text-message instructions
- Other: Order only via fleeting IG stories on Wednesdays or Thursdays

This is the hardest pizza to order. A lot of you have been asking me to go and try out Joe Vlam's Pizza. Because it seems like every single person who has tried it loves it. Is it all just hype? The biggest problem isn't the 150 ringgit price tag, it's ordering from him. There's no shop and he's not on any food delivery platform. So I tried DMing him for 3 weeks to order, only to find out there's a specific way to place that order. Basically be a stalker and wait for his IG story every Wednesday or Thursday, around evening to night time. The most stressful part. And there's so many orders that the stories only last a few seconds. But wait, there's more! This is the last week he's gonna take orders before a long Ramadan break. I couldn't refresh fast enough. But someone else did it. My girlfriend actually managed to place the order. Capture that elusive IG story. Now it's just a waiting game to arrive at his location. We arrived at 11.11am and according to his instruction text him this. So you wait here, once he replies you, you wait there. That's where you will get your pizza. After waiting for a few minutes, we received an instruction to turn on our hazard lights and drive to the other side. Are you excited? Hungry. We are next in line. It's the moment of truth. I know! You do TikTok right? Thank you! It's the virus too. But enjoy! Friendly guy but you could say it's because there's a camera on him but the one thing he cannot fake is the taste of this pizza. First of all, it looks very soggy. Straight away after the first bite, I know some of you want me to say it's bad. It's not bad. It's not actor face. It's good. If you've seen my previous videos, you can tell this girlfriend reaction whether the food is good or not. Right? Spicy, sour, salty. And this stringy spice adds a unique herbal taste. The pickle was also a nice sourish touch but not everything was great. The crust for me, not so nice. Just normal. The cheese was cheesy enough but there wasn't much cheese poo for us. So sad! Because I've seen other videos that has the cheese poo. What about the star ingredient? The Wagyu beef? The beef is almost melt in your mouth tender. It's also juicy at the same time with a very strong beefy taste. The beef is good! This pizza is good but is there a better option? I did a review video before on a place called Christine's. They have this Wagyu croissant and the beef is just as tender. The cheese was also good. And for me, the crust was much better. All for almost 3 times cheaper. I can half see why Aisha is disappointed in this pizza but not because of the taste by itself. Because there might be better options for cheaper. And the hype was too big to meet some expectations. The price is just the cherry on top. So what are my final thoughts? It's good but you shouldn't feel the FOMO if you don't eat it. Especially with the price, the location, even getting the order from him. A lot of hassle. If you love pizza and you have to try everything this is worth trying once in a lifetime kind of thing. Joe Flam's Pizza is a 7.5.
