Jason gives KFC's new Extra Spicy Chicken a 5/10, calling it a downgrade despite being marketed as an upgrade. It's just more chili powder with no unique herbs, and the meat is still fatty and tasteless.

Highlights

  • Price: RM24 for a 3-piece combo
  • Taste: Spicier but just extra chili powder, fatty meat with no taste
  • Other: Not a deciding factor over McDonald's

Ching asked me to try KFC's new Extra Spicy Chicken, and it's RM24 for a 3-piece combo. Today I'm here to see if the extra spicy, extra crispy is hyper swipe. This is the extra spicy and extra crispy. This is the normal spicy. Spot the difference. I think the crispiness, it looks the same but maybe it's just one shade or two shade redder. Definitely spicier. Crispy or no? Crispy sound test. This one's from the original. Yeah, really spicy. Normal spicy. Normal spicy. But the spice is not like they add some extra unique herbs compared to the original. Spicy. It's just more chili powder. If I was in a situation where I decide do I want to eat McDonald's today or do I want to eat KFC today? Oh, I want to eat KFC because they have that extra spicy and crispy. It wouldn't be a deciding factor. Type swipe, swipe. It's still very fatty, there's no taste to the meat. It's supposed to be an upgrade, but it tastes like a downgrade. 5 out of 10. Look at how watery and light this is. Look at that. Blam.
