The verdict
BolehSolid affordable ramen in Kajang: the signature black garlic bowl earns 7.7 while the spicy Akka lands at 6.7. Jason likes the localized taste but wants a saltier soup base with stronger chicken essence, and would think twice about driving all the way from PJ.

Finally I get to review Kuro Ramen. This is the Akka Ramen, it's supposed to be their spicy version, girlfriend says it tastes like sambal petai, soup looks super thick, spicy sambal petai, noodle is chewy, thick and creamy is nice, at least the noodle is not like serok ya, to me tastes like premium yellow meat. Feels to me lah that Kuro Ramen knows its market, it has a localised taste, I just wish the chicken essence flavour was stronger. Chicken chasu, I prefer it on Maruki because the grilled roasted taste is nicer. There is a slight grilled taste one, it is the most lean though, so I like that part about this chicken, not too spicy for me, the soup base right, it needs to be a bit more salty, if they have more of the chicken essence, I think it makes it much better, 6.7. This one is supposed to be their creme de la creme, what you would recommend your friends if you come to Kuro Ramen all the way from PJ to Gajang and pay 7 ringgit total. Big soy sauce, mushroomy black garlic taste, I like that. Personal preference but I really think the soup base needs to be a little more salty here, to make it more savoury. This is the mushroom I was talking about, the black one, queues together with the soup base and I think it comes out quite good. The mushroom when you bite enough has a sweet juicy flavour to it. Not too bad but the yolk is not as sweet as the others I've had, 7.7. I think for this price point it's definitely a good option for Kajang Yen's but if you're travelling from far away, you'll be thinking twice as well. We'll be thinking twice as well.
