The verdict
GreatJason finds Loudspeaker at Tropicana Gardens Mall a very good and affordable karaoke experience at RM19 for three hours for two, thanks to the bring-your-own-food policy. The diluted drinks and bland sandy ice cream are the weak points, but the sound quality and setup impress. Touchscreen controls are slightly unresponsive and the mic needs constant hand-holding.

Carryoke for two? It's called loudspeaker at Tropicana Gardens Mall. We came at 318 and there was a queue but it wasn't long. Here you can pause to see the prices. But I found out even after cubing, you still have to book. Oh, this is six. Three hours later. The studio room plus headphone and mic cover cost us 19 ringgit. We're going to M1 room. From the outside they look like sleeping pots. From the inside it looks like a small recording studio. So cool! And yes, for only one ringgit, you get to take care of your health a bit with this cover for the mic and also the headphones. What if the last person who used it was safe? And I see here, the door got opening so is it really soundproof? Luckily people from outside can barely hear my amazing voice inside. For drinks they have syrup, all kinds of juice, soda. It's an all you can drink concept. So since you're going to be singing a lot, it's good. The drink I got might as well be water because it was so diluted but with this price I cannot complain. The controls are all touch screen. It's not really responsive. You might find yourself re-tapping a few times but at least it still works. I can't believe I sound like that! Don't worry if you sing like me with the headphones on, it's a totally different world. Like as if you can be a finalist in Academy Fantasia. If you know, you know. Especially when you can turn on the singer's voice but you can also turn it off. Yes, the volume is there for you to adjust in case it gets too loud or too soft. The ice cream is also buffet style. I got chocolate and also vanilla. Tastes like water and sugar, got a sandy texture. Supermarket ice cream way better. I guess that's why they let you bring your own food. To save time, you can create a playlist just like a lot of other karaoke's. Naturally, yours truly got a lot of Bruno Mars inside it. They also have dual screen for someone like my girlfriend who likes looking down when she's singing. And maybe I'm using it wrong or it's my booth problem but the mic cannot hold up on its own so you have to hold it up with your hands constantly. Right on the dot, they lock your screen. But if you have a song playing, it will play until the end. That's what I feel listening to myself sing. But for this place, if you bring your own food and drinks, it's a very good and affordable singing experience for you and your plus one.
