Eat where today? Authentic Korean food, it's called Mimi Korean Restaurant. This is the owner and his Korean. Annyeonghaseyo! We decided to sit inside but you can sit outside too. They open 6-10 every day and close on the first and third Monday of every month. They have a la carte and set dishes. We ordered the pork shoulder set and rice which come separate. Their service was fast, food arrived in just a few minutes. Side dishes and condiments are refillable without any extra charge. Did this Pepsi come from Korea? So cool! We requested for forks because we were really bad at using Korean chopsticks. Probably the greatest kimchi I've ever seen. A nice balance of sour, spicy and umami. Umami is a fifth taste which means savoury. The set we ordered also comes with Korean pancakes. I've been to Korea and I've tried this pancake before and also I've tried other places in Malaysia. This has to be the best one that I've tasted so far and it's not an exaggeration. I don't know how to explain but I can just tell that they put more ingredients than the usual ones. I can say that their pancake is on the crispier side. This is the main dish, pork shoulder with kimchi soup. Mashisayo! It comes with already grilled pork shoulder, stir-fried cabbage, but wait, there's more! My girlfriend's favourite, melted cheese. In fact she likes it so much she eats it without the meat. It tastes like pizza cheese which is a thumbs up for me. Wrap it with the meat and you've got the perfect combination. Umami, delicious! Inside the kimchi soup there's tofu, enoki, topokki. Girlfriend likes eating the soup with rice and it tastes great. The kimchi soup I've tasted before this always seemed bland and diluted. This one is like as if the kimchi is marinated overnight with the ingredients. The combination of meat, kimchi, samjang and my favourite is sesame salt dipping sauce. Look at that big juicy bag! And the damage for today's dinner is 116 ringgit. Mimi Korean Restaurant is an 8 out of 10 for us, definitely recommend.
