Jason finds Monograph a stylish dimly lit cafe that mostly delivers, with the squid ink pasta the standout at 7. The fish bites disappoint at 6 due to dry fish, while the RM22 pistachio dessert earns a 7.3 for its gelato-like texture. Good for an occasional treat, but prices are not cheap.

Highlights

  • Price: RM39 squid ink pasta, RM22 pistachio dessert, seafood pasta average market price
  • Taste: Squid ink umami is apparent with big creamy oysters; fish bites dry but sweet-salty seasoning works
  • Ambiance: Dimly lit vintage-style cafe that looks ecstatic and date-worthy
  • Other: Garlic and olive oil flavor weaker than he prefers in the aglio olio

Do you know about this cafe above Nico Macha? It's called Monograph, the place is giving me vintage salad. This dimly lit cafe looks ecstatic but my wallet has been burnt many times by fancy looking cafe. Is it really good or overpriced slot? Tubert try test Monograph. RM39 for squid ink and for this type of seafood average each price la. This one is al dente. And the squid ink umami is very apparent. Their oyster is quite big. Very creamy, got a sea taste. I don't know why their muscle bit smaller than usual. It's cold, very neutral tasting. What I like about Aleo Aleong, the taste of the olive oil and the garlic is strong. But this one, not as strong as I like. 7. Japanese Kombu Tempura Fish Bites Mahanaman Pui. These are the fish bites. Biasa fish and chips, sweet and salty seasoning. I'm guessing this is Tata sauce Mayo Thousand Island vibe. This one, sweet and salty, I like it but the fish very dry. 6. Roasted Sicilian Pistachio Turin with whipped cream. I don't even know what 50% of that means. All I know is that this is RM22 and that is not cheap for two blocks of what we consider cream. Let's try with the nut. Creamy, slightly salty and that signature pistachio nutty flavor. What if I mix it with a whipped cream? Best way I can describe this texture is like gelato that doesn't melt. 7.3. Let's try with the nut. Let's try with the nut. Let's try with the nut.
