Jason finds Popmeals' popularity mostly deserved: solid, delivery-friendly comfort food at fair prices. The ayam kicap and mac and cheese deliver, while the salted egg buttermilk chicken disappoints as his least favourite.

Highlights

  • Price: Mac and cheese RM14.70 fills one person; pricing above average but still affordable
  • Taste: Ayam kicap's salty-sweet balance opens the appetite; salted egg chicken is dry and sugary

  • Other: 46 outlets with thousands of delivery app reviews all above 4 stars

If you ever had this, uh-huh, uh-huh, then congratulations. You are a pop millerian. If not, let me clue you in. You sure see it on your delivery app on 46 outlets, thousands of reviews, all above 4 stars. Going to the paradigm outlet, did a t-post, took a takeout, took a takeaway and also ordered 4 dishes. This is the super creamy mac and cheese. The macaroni, soft. I prefer it slightly bouncier, salty, creamy. Reminds me of Kenny Rogers back in the days when their mac and cheese were so nice. This is the ham. Tender, RM14.70 for mac and cheese. Portion can fill up one person. Price I think above average, not super mahal nak mampu. 7.1. Ayam kicap, sambal gesekh, kropok here. Masuk angin adik. This one if you eat at location it's better. Salty, got cake. Great chilli taste is strong. Can feel my sweat glands opening up already. Chicken. Hmm. This masa kicap memang sedak. Good balance of salty and sweet. Deep fried oil taste. For the price, I think this is very good. The more you eat it, the more it opens your appetite. Even with the masuk angin kropok, I give this a salted egg, buttermilk chicken. Ini sauce dia. This is the same kropok. Hmm. Least favourite so far. Not bad but dry. I don't taste much of the butter. It's more sugary sweet with a strong mushroom flavour. Not liking this. 6.7. I forgot to record me eating this ayam gepok with sambal gajus. Ayyuhh. Demo a bit ah, the chicken ah. Ayam kampung taste. The deep fried oil marinated all the way to the meat. I like that. Masuk angin. Almost finished it. This somehow has too much salt in it. I consider myself someone who likes a bit more salt on my dish compared to an average person. Wow and this to me is like way too much. Look at the in the background now. 7.2.
