Jason's verdict: totally not worth it, giving the viral twin tower 2/10 after a 1.5-hour wait for a dry, sugary roti tissue. The other gimmick dishes (ice kosong cheese, Milo tom yum, mi goreng milo) were mediocre novelty items. He suspects the kitchen is burnt out on making these viral orders.

Highlights

  • Price: RM31.80 total for four gimmick dishes, twin tower RM17
  • Taste: Gimmicky Milo creations taste like plain Milo; twin tower is dry, cold, overly sugary
  • Ambiance: Mamak with viral-menu chaos; orders delayed over an hour
  • Other: Twin tower took 1.5 hours despite near-empty demand for it

I've finally tried the weirdest dishes in a mamak, you suggest one ah, and it's called Restaurant Aleph Sripitali. First is ice kosong cheese for RM1.80. You say cloudy already, look like barley. It's the same as putting cheese inside water. You also can do it again fine. Tell me this doesn't look disgusting. 3.5. Milo tom yum for RM5.50. Bottom there is warm, top there is cold. The top tastes like milo. It's just that they put the baby corn, cauliflower, lemongrass. Don't have the tom yum paste, the powder that makes them taste. It's just milo, nothing special at all. Better than this, 3.8. Mi goreng milo, RM7.50. Without the milo. That's up, that's up. It's pieces of clump one, not powdery is it? It just adds a chocolatey taste on them. It's not a plus. I'd rather eat it without. Just another gimmick la. Because the mi goreng is still okay, I'm giving this a 4.6. What you're seeing here is one half of the twin tower that we ordered. It was there for more than one hour before I had to ask them what was happening. It's almost as if they themselves did not want to make it. If I didn't ask them about it, I think we'll be easily waiting over 2 hours. But surely this twin tower for RM17 is worth it, right? This is just a big roti tissue with chocolate syrup and a lot of sugar. Very cold, dry roti tissue. It's bad. It's bad. Waiting for 2 hours worth it. We came at around 8.15. Now it's 9.40. Totally not worth it. 2 out of 10. I feel like all these things have been so viral that a lot of people have ordered it for such a long time and so many times that the Ane also very tired of making this already. That's why they delay this thing for like one and a half hours when they could clearly finish this much earlier. I think they were very tired of making it. At the beginning, they were very happy that this is a marketing gimmick. They get a lot of eyes. But now they start to realize number one is not even good. And then number two is so hard to make. This is RM17. One roti tissue is RM1.40. It means if you go inside, it's just flour.
