Jason gives RSMY's cheese naan a 7.5, calling it the cheesiest and best cheese naan he has tasted, though he notes it's essentially a regular naan with double cheese at double the price. The nasi biryani ayam tandoori was a mixed bag, with the chicken tasting more like fried chicken. Worth a try if you love cheese naan, but not a must-visit otherwise.

Highlights

  • Price: RM11 cheese naan, RM38 total for two drinks and two dishes
  • Taste: 60% cheese to 40% naan ratio, not burnt, extremely cheesy pull
  • Ambiance: Huge crowd after 10pm, lucky to find a table inside

This is the cheesiest cheese naan I've ever tried, but is it the best? It's called RSMY in Medan Tuangku. We went here after 10pm and there's still a huge crowd. That's also because they open until 12am. I think we were really lucky to find a spot inside. Tapi harga bahana mempui! Ouch! Ordered 2 drinks, 2 dish, RM38. Food is RM31. What do you get for RM11 cheese naan? Cheese that you can pull and pull. Aku tertarik! But is it all just for show? I really like the naan to cheese ratio. Usually, the naan is about 70% and the cheese... This is 60% cheese, 40% naan. And it's not even their tambah cheese version. Also appreciate that it's not burnt and cooked just night. It's the best cheese naan I've tasted and I'm giving it a 7.5. I'll explain more later in the video. Nasi biryani ayam tandoori, RM20. So order the dada but we got Thai drumstick. Tasting the rice with the sauce is summed up with two words. Tasting a lot of the onion-y herbs and spice taste, the chicken is a different story but also a mixed bag. Tastes good but more like fried chicken instead of tandoori. The biggest note of this dish is also usually one of my favourites, the papadam. When you can ban a papadam this way, you know the muscle angin level is max. It's a form. Now about the cheese naan, even though it is the best I've tasted, it really is a typical regular cheese naan with 200% more cheese. If other mamas were to realise this and just add the same amount of cheese, the taste is going to be the same also. With the RM11 price tag being more or less double than a typical cheese naan price in Klang Valley, then you would expect them to put that much cheese. What I'm trying to say is that if other mamak or restaurants copy this, then I don't see why you need to go to RSMY to try it. But as of this moment and as far as I know, it is the only place that has that much cheese in the cheese naan and I love it when my cheese naan is very cheesy. So if you really love cheese naan, I think it's worth a try. If not, you don't really miss out on much lah. Not all much lah.
