Kita jejak kaki di Taman Inteng Kelain. Oh toh. The last time we were at Salt 55 was over 2 years ago. Today I'm trying 3 dishes that we've never tried here before. Do you think the Tom Yam Seafood Lodge, RM38. Okay, big scoop. Oh, I didn't hit my blister more than the Ayam Gepok. Usually for Malaysian version of Tom Yam, there's a significant amount of sweetness. This one is no exception, but their sourness is also very punchy. Even for someone like me who really likes salty, this is at my limit. Going to count how many prawns they give. 1, 2, 3, 5. This is RM38 ah. So I would consider 5 prawns to be below average to average. I can already tell this prawn is kacut. Not a store bought smooth bouncy kind. Mesh-y meat texture. But very kacut. The meat is hardened. They give chunks of fish also. It's been drenched in the soup for quite a while. It gives that kacut meat feeling. But you still can taste the fishiness. Must try a bit sushi to find the squid. Normally the squid got a bit of chewiness. This is not those super authentic type where it's very less sweet and very much sour. I think they are trying to cater to the local audience. It's definitely a flavour punch. But strongest on sweet and saltiness. It reminds me of restaurant that serve mamami noodles. 6.8. Deep fried fish with signature chilli sauce. RM48. For this size, it's not too bad. Very deep fried skin. Got the crunch. As expected, it is flaky. It is a bit firm. I think the others are bell pepper, coriander, tomato. There's also a lot of chopped onions. I think it contributes a lot to the flavour and the sweetness. I think that's what also helps make the sauce, thicker, gelatinous, much more sticky. With emphasis on the bell peppery capsicum taste. The fish taste does hold its own. It's got some mild sweetness. And the taste is like mackerel, saba, that kind of. Portion is also not bad. Wah, this is quite heavy. Flip on the other side. Still a decent chunk of meat. My biggest pet peeve for sweet and sour. Fish skin becomes soggy. This is still relatively crispy. Overall, well-cooked fish, balanced sauce. It's another flavour bomb. 7.6. Pak Krapow chicken egg wrap, RM18. Let's see what present is awaiting me inside. Very saucy. The fish sauce in the Pak Krapow here is strong. Followed by the basil leaf, the chilli padi. It's stinging in your mouth. And the saltiness, I think, from the oyster sauce. It's also heating here. Egg is soft, solid and fluffy without being dry. So far the meat chicken, no tendons. It's a little oily. Tomato for balance. I think you'll get a good standard of Pak Krapow taste here. But it's like you're getting 20% meat, 80% vegetable for taste. I prefer my Pak Krapow meatier. 6.6.
