Jason rates this Turkish-style cheese potato spot 7.1 — legit smooth potato and juicy tender beef, but pricey at RM29. Cold vegetables on top clash with the warm base, and he'd prefer it cheaper without the veggies.

Highlights

  • Price: RM29 for the beef potato, which he finds expensive
  • Taste: Smooth legit potato, juicy tender beef, cheese slightly dry but flavour holds
  • Ambiance: Not described in the video
  • Other: Wants mashed potato with beef, no cold veggies, at half the price

We are going to a place which I think started it all, the kegilaan of the cheese potato. I've seen some videos, definitely mahan namam, poing! Istanbul Bites. Wooo, this is quite expensive, 29 ringgit for beef. Try. I'm tasting mostly corn and vegetables. The potato that they use, memang quite legit. The texture is smooth and not chunky. See the cheese poop? I prefer it to be a bit more melty. It's slightly more dried out but the taste is still there. Sometimes when you mix cheese with potato right, the potato overpowers the taste and this one is not. For me beef, the best way to eat it is hempuk and that is juicy and tender. The only thing I don't like here is all the vegetables on top. I mean besides the price because the vegetables are very cold and the bottom is very warm. I just feel it doesn't mix. My ideal Turkish potato is the mashed potato, the hempuked beef or any other meat without the veggie and they cut the price in half. Maybe I will come back and buy it again but right now as it is with the price and everything, $7.1.
