The verdict
BolehJason finds the food fresh with thick sashimi cuts and excellent service, but some dishes like the Seafood Shirashizushi fell flat in flavour. Worth a try if you just got your bonus, best shared with a group rather than solo or a date.

Is this new sushi really that good? It's called Sushi Mastro in Kapong. It's on the first floor just above Baskin Robbins. The place is quite small, you can sit inside for a more cosy feeling or outside if you want to take better pictures. Kau ni budak oon! The moment you open that menu, you can feel your wallet sakit. Customer service memang best, the restaurant manager explained the menu to me. This is their chile piña and yes, that's chili. And we also got the fresco mango. Aku mi no pokok. The chile piña tastes like pineapple juice with a hint of spice. Mango fresco is just like your mango juice but more pekat and tastier. Hello Nikkei Salmon Mango. Look at how juicy the mango is. Look at how juicy the salmon is. Mango sweetness paired with the incredibly fresh salmon is one delicious bite. Have you seen a thicker sashimi? Pinky promised me this next dish is bomb. Scallop and sea bear served in a pool of Aji Amarillo sauce, a Peruvian fusion. Other than the celery which I personally don't like, this dish tastes as good as it looks especially with the truffle oil. So cool! If there's only one thing you can try, it's their local sashimi. Their Ekejime Malaba and Golden Snapper is delicious. Even if you're a sushi lover, I second guess if you want to get this, it's called the Sushi Surtidas and it comes with 16 different sushi types. This will cost you RM179. I can see it being okay for a big gathering but solo or a date, probably not. But since I tried it all, I can tell you my top 3 favourites. The Golden Snapper, Malaba and Unagi. This one a lot of people have been raving about, this Seafood Shirashizushi. Apparently the proper way to eat this is to top it over on the plate and then there will be a sashimi at the bottom which is now the top. Sprinkle some lime, kacau-kacau a bit, mix it together and it's ready. After all that, it tasted bland to me. The flavours are just not popping off. It's weird because the food looks good. Customer service excellent but for the rest this is what we have to say. I give this a try and see if you just got your bonus then I recommend you to try here because the food here is actually very fresh and the cuts on the sashimi is very thick. If you love Japanese food, it's a must try. Bring a group of friends, order a few dish. Everyone try a bit, a bit, a bit. Okay bye!
RM179 · Local sashimi (Ekejime Golden Snapper and Malaba)
