The verdict

Great

Jason gives his first nasi mangi an 8, loving the curry-like kuah and salty spicy sambal. Chicken was a bit dry and not super fresh, but the marination runs deep and the price is unbeatable.

  • Taste: Curry-like kuah flooding the rice with salty spicy sambal

Wow, look at the portion. 6.50 for this, that's insane. It's in this low traffic area called Warun Chego in Bukit Bucong. I have never heard of a nasi mangi and the price looks really good. 6.90 only. Less than 10 ringgit per pack, so I must be delulu. Lucky too. Very tasty. Not as tender as I like but still nice. It's a bit dry. Wasn't fresh, felt like it was pre-made hours and hours before but the marination was more than skin deep. Nasi mangi best. I don't know how to describe the flavour, it's like curry but not quite. All I know is that I really like it. And I cannot imagine the rice kalau tak kena banjir dengan kuah ini. And the sambal adds more flavour. Salty and spicy. This is so suitable for someone like me because sometimes I just like to eat chicken or meat with just rice. If I live near Bucong, I'll be a regular customer here. Giving my first nasi mangi an 8.
