The verdict

Great

An 8 out of 10 overall, but the smashed beef burger alone is a 10 out of 10 for Jason. He was sceptical going in but found the Australian beef patties tender, juicy and not dry, with a sour cream sauce that elevates it. The Tokyo night-street vibe and butterbeer add to the fun, though the spicy chicken burger is more subtle than a McDeluxe.

Highlights

  • Price: The bill came to RM30
  • Taste: Tender, juicy smashed Australian beef with sour cream sauce and glossy brioche bun
  • Ambiance: Tokyo street vibes at night, cool trip-shop setting very different from daytime
  • Other: Butterbeer is non-alcoholic, like carbonated popcorn in a cup

This one is called Shimokita Space. Trip shop that sells burger? But this time I'm back for their smashed beef burger, their new spicy chicken burger and their butterbeer. So cool! I went before last time but it was during the daytime. I can tell you the scene is totally different, it's giving Tokyo street vibes. I wonder if you know? Here's a typewriter ASMR. Time for food! I've tasted butterbeer before in my previous video, it's like drinking carbonated popcorn in a cup but in a good way. And no there's no alcohol in it even though that's the word beer. A beverage popularised by Harry Potter. Ini lah dia. Shimokita smash burger double beef patty. Actually I was very sceptical of this place even though a few of you already told me to try it out, but I was so wrong! It's very good. The smashed beef is so tender, it's just not dry, it's very fresh, juicy. In fact I was so curious about the patty that I asked the staff and the owner. Australian beef. Okay Australian beef patty. Okay back to the rest of the burger. And the sour cream? Oh the sour cream is the one that makes it 8-9 out of 10 for me. Even the bun is very glossy. When you bite it, it's just scrumptious. I go and catch out the owner again because I want to know what's the sprinkle on top of the bun? Ah it's the galley powder. It's like Goku's ultra instinct form. Naruto in his sage nine tails form. It's smashed burger in its purest. Simple delicious. Next up is the new, probably not so new anymore, spicy chicken burger. After the first bite lah, it honestly took me a while for my brain to process the taste. It's cooked well, the skin is very crispy, the meat is very juicy. But first 3 seconds when you eat it, you don't really feel the taste. Later on it starts to kick in a bit. So I think it tastes more like the McDonald's spicy chicken McDeluxe but more subtle. It's still a good burger! Bluetooth bill was 30 ringgit. Cool vibes. Overall delicious food. It's an 8 out of 10 for me but with the smashed burger alone. 10 out of 10.
