The verdict

Great

Jason gives the Butterbeer a 10/10 and calls Shimokita Space the perfect Gen Z spot: good thrifted clothes, chill cafe and very Instagrammable. Most clothes are menswear and the fitting room is small and dusty, but his girlfriend still found something she liked.

Highlights

  • Price: Butterbeer RM10; sunglasses RM60 and cancel shoes RM100 felt overpriced
  • Taste: Non-alcoholic Butterbeer is a one-of-a-kind drink and 10/10
  • Ambiance: Retro thrift shop with chill cafe and classroom corner, very Instagrammable
  • Other: Fitting room small and dusty; rare Yeezus Tour jacket in stock

If you've ever been to a thrift shop that's also a cafe and it's a very Instagrammable spot, then this is the right place buddy. This one is called Shimokita Space. Make sure you waste Orange SS15 to find your way there. First word that comes to my mind, retro. If you're born in the 90s, you know what this is. Sick! Like I said, you have the chill space aka the cafe and of course you got the thrift shop itself. Accessories, a place to rest and a ton of vintage clothes to look at. When was the last time you saw a TV like this? Or even this digital mirror? You have jackets on one side, shirts and sweaters on another and pants. A white champion hoodie this cheap? Come on man! Varsity jacket going for $50. Oversized blazer is the trend now. Just like this open college shirt. Baseball tees, more hockey jerseys, baseball tee again. Just a lot of really cool fits. Wanted to get this jacket but our weather is just too damn hot. Found this Yeezus Tour jacket. It's very rare to find out so if you want it, run bestie. If you're into boiler suits, you can get this for a reasonable price. Fair warning here, most of the clothes here are for guys but my girlfriend found something that she really liked. Also, they have a fitting room but it's small and dusty. You can chill here while your girlfriend or boyfriend shops. They've got a few hats to choose from as well as necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Would not recommend their sunglasses, they go for 60 ringgit each. Spotted these cancel shoes for 100. And you can find boots, brogues and loafers. I was almost done thrifting until my girlfriend bought a drink. It's called Butterbeer and it's 10 ringgit. So naturally we want to have a sip of this one-of-a-kind drink at their cafe. Their cafe is broken down into, well, a cafe but also a classroom which is very cool. Do you know what this is? This one, if you don't know, we are not friends anymore. Anyway, they have chalks you can use to do your own thing. For me, I did the cringiest thing anyone did on this board. FYI, this Butterbeer is non-alcoholic and it's a 10 out of 10 for me. Good clothes, chill cafe and Instagrammable. The perfect Gen Z spot.
